Short-Term Running Goals:

Compete in another Half Marathon  and get a decent time - under 1:20 would be great!

Step up to 5 days a week running.


 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running with as little injury as possible and achieve the sub-3 dream (Accomplished!!! 2010). Next dream is to improve my half-marathon and 10km time.


Personal:

I am 40 years old and married with two young children. I have been training on and off for the last 10 years.   I have been training three times a week for the most part but hoping to step that up to 5-times a week and see if I can avoid injuries, although 3 seems to be about as much as I can manage with work and family. 

"Run less, run faster" is my running bible that has helped my do just that. 1 steady, 1 quick and 1 long seems to keep my fast enough for my input.

10km Peace Marathon Race.  Time  38.50.  av pace 6:10.

Despite little training I managed to do better than I thought. I was worrried about  my

foot injury and so I went into the race very cautiously, I started with the intention of doing 6.30 p.mile but when I saw the first mile was 6:05 i cut back a little to 6:15 and then 6:20  and felt fine.

I reckon I could have gone a little faster at the beginning but I am glad I held back as I felt strong all the way. It was a great course and I finished 80th out of 5000 so not bad really.

Easy run with Colin arounf the river. Foot felt fine and so I feel that the race was a good thing to have done.

Day off so off I headed into the morning with a LSD.  Ended up doing a little bit faster at the start than I should have which left my legs all wobbly on the last mile.

My right foot pain wasn't so bad but I was pretty dehydrated the last half.

Easy run around the river, extremely windy conditions so i  took it easy about 7.20 with a full gale blowing against me.

Easyish run, slow start with Colin (7.50) and I picked up a little 6:50 p.m for a few miles

but needed to stop for a nature call so I called it a day at just short of 5 miles.

LSD.  Averaged about 7:50-8:00 p/m. Had a half-day so I went out at 3pm, starting out with Colin for 5km and I went onwards towards the Higashi airport and came through town. It felt longer but when I got back to the start I had only done 13 miles so I ate a banana and half a snickers before starting the next part.
